WHERE HAVE WE BEEN
Grand Teton National Park
We boondocked in between Jackson Hole and the Grand Tetons for 5 days and we absolutely loved our time here. Everywhere we went was so beautiful and picturesque, we just tried to soak it in. A major highlight was seeing two moose on day 3 (we had been on the hunt to see one and were thrilled when we finally did). We also had a blast downtown Jackson Hole, which very much has a melting pot vibe. The workers we met were either from a different state or a different country. On the day we left to move to Yellowstone, a herd of bison crossed the road right in front of our rig. It was quite the send off!
Pocatello, Idaho
The place that Carolyn’s parents got married! We visited the school Carolyn’s mom started teaching at and the church her parents got married at. Fourth of July was spent at the fairgrounds and we were blown away by the firework show (pun intended). It was the best we had ever seen, which is high praise! For Carolyn’s birthday, we spent the day down in Idaho Falls. Thank you to all who wished Carolyn a happy birthday. She very much appreciated and felt the love!
Layton/ Salt Lake City, Utah
The location of Jon’s 36 birthday didn’t disappoint. We started our time here exploring Antelope Island and we were stoked to see a Bison! We went on two different waterfall hikes that were both awesome and involved getting our feet wet in very cold water. Good thing we brought our water shoes! We ended each work day taking Chester to a local dog park and enjoyed playing frisbee/soccer in some nearby fields. Jon especially felt the love on his birthday and we cheers to many friends. Utah, you are a beautiful state. It’s a bittersweet “See you later!” as we head to our next location.
Heber City/ Park City, Utah
Burr! We actually wore long sleeves during our time here. It felt like fall weather only in June! It rained on and off during our stay and the mountain peaks always had snow on them. Highlights included driving through Guardsman Pass, a night out in Park City, and meeting new friends. Not only did we enjoy the beauty of this place, but we were happy to slow down for a minute, bake some cookies, and play some frisbee!
Bryce Canyon National Park
This has to have been one of our all time favorite boon-docking locations. We found the best spot to camp for the week and greatly enjoyed the pine trees and surrounding mountain-town vibes. Chester loved being able to romp around off leash and it was an easy 20-minute drive into the National park. The cooler weather felt amazing after hiking in Zion, and Bryce National Park was simply stunning with the red rock canyons and unique hoodoos. It was also way less crowded than Zion. Walking down into the Bryce Canyons was one of the most beautiful hikes we’ve done yet.
